2023 Budget Retreat: Ifo LG Boss, Delano, Charges Council Management on Achieving Set Goals

Following the need to make life more meaningful for the inhabitants and in order to have a rewarding achievements at the end of the year in Ifo Local Government, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano, has charged the Management of the Council Area to be determined in achieving the set goals of the Local Government for the 2023 fiscal year.
Speaking during this year’s budget retreat held recently at the Council Secretariat, Hon. Delano appreciated the directors and heads of departments for taking time to prepare their departmental estimates.
She also enjoined them to gear up their staff to take this year’s revenue drive with optimal dedication and seriousness.
According to her, the more revenue generated by the staff, the easier it becomes to execute projects that will have meaningful impact on the lives of the grassroot people.
She outlined the developmental projects and activities for year 2023 to included; massive construction of shop, open stalls, sinking of boreholes, provision of solar-light to maternity centres, grading of deplorable roads, renovation of offices, beautification and landscaping of the Local Government Secretariat, increase fund for drug and provision of medical equipments amongst many more.
Speaking earlier the director, budget, planning, research and statistics, Dr. Adekoya Olusoji Adetayo, shed more light on the importance of the budget retreat.
According to him, the retreat is a provision of law in line with the International Public Sector Accounting Standard. (IPSAS).
He stressed further that, the year 2022 approved budget recorded a high performance level due to the cooperation and selfless effort of all the departmental heads and the general staff of the Local Government, while asking for the same to be replicated in this fiscal year.
Important personalities present at the budget retreat included; the Vice Chairman, Hon. Oladapo Adebesin; Supervisors, Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Akinyemi Adeyanju, All Directors and Heads of Departments of the Local Government who were there to defend their various budget proposals.
