36th Lisabi Day Celebrations: Majekodunmi Sues for Peaceful Coexistence

In the spirit of celebrating the great warrior, Lisabi Agbongbo Akala,  who fought for the liberation of the Egbas, the Executive Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi, JP has urged the Egbas and the people within the council area to pray for peace and tranquility for Egbaland, and also live in peaceful coexistence.

Hon. Omolaja Majekodunmi, made the statement at the 36th Lisabi Day Celebration program at Ake palace ground on Saturday, 18th February, 2023.

The Council Boss expressed his appreciation to the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba (Dr) Micheal Adedotun Arẹmu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV and all sons and daughters of Egbaland for their contributions in the yearly celebrations of the Legendary warrior.

He explained that the festival is a major historic and cultural event of the Egba people celebrating the Liberation struggle.

He used the opportunity to call out to all sons and daughters of Egbaland both home and abroad to emulate and sustain the selflessness of the great leader who gave his life for the liberation of the people. He called on all to live together in harmony, love each other and in peace.

While stressing the need for continued preservation of the rich culture of the people of the State, the Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapọ Abiodun, MFR, in his address expressed his appreciation to the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba (Dr) Micheal Adedotun Arẹmu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV and all Egba sons and daughters, for using the celebration as a unifying factor to bring the people together.

He also assured them of the continued commitment of his administration to the celebration.
