A Rejoinder to a Published Story on Alleged Water Borne Disease in Obafemi/Owode LG

The attention of the Chairman of Obafemi/Owode Local Government, Hon. Adesina Ogunsola has been drawn to a story in the edition of 21st May, of the Punch newspaper on the plight of the good people of Bamgbade village in their quest to access good drinkable water.
Much as we appreciate the efforts of the writer, Mr. Sodiq Ojuroungbe to bring to bare the plight of the people of Bamgbade village, we wish to emphatically stated that, from the onset, this so called plight has not been unnoticed by the Local Government council authority.
For the avoidance of doubt, other communities namely Olugbo, Eleruja, Fidiwo and others that Surrounded Bamgbade village jointly agreed at a meeting with the Local Government to sink a borehole at Fidiwo, a place that is central to the other communities.
Consequently, an industrial motorised borehole with overhead tank and a generator to ensure constant supply of power has just been provided for use and benefit of Bamgbade and other adjoining communities.
It is also noteworthy to mention that Obafemi/Owode Local Government has more than 600 villages and it is our determination to ensure that each of these villages enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Our administration will not deliberately allow our people to suffer the risk of epidemic outbreak especially on issues we can conveniently control like the provision of good and drinkable water.
Within the short time that our administration came into power, we have completed the provision of boreholes to Akiode/Erinle and environ, Alapako Oni/Abujana and environ as well as Owode town and all are ready for handing over to the people in due course.
Had, Sodiq Ojuroungbe made efforts to get across to the Local Government which we believe is the closest to the people, he would have had the opportunity of getting reliable information about our efforts in making life easy for the people within the available resources.
