ABEOKUTA NORTH LG BOSS, PRINCE AYORINDE RECEIVES AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Prince Adebayo Ayorinde was recently jointly honoured with an Award of Excellence by the Association Of Primary Schools Head Teachers Of Nigeria (AOPSHON) and the National Association of Primary Schools Games And Sports Teachers (NAPSGAST).

Hon. Prince Ayorinde who was ably represented by the Special Assistant on Media Matters, Hon. Kushimo Yusuff Adekunle (Dudu), appreciated the two associations for the honour bestowed on the him, advised that Sports should be merged with academics alongside with other extracurricular activities.

The Director of Sports, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mrs Iyabo Rotimi, encouraged members of the associations to keep the good work of discovering potential talents in all sporting activities in Primary Schools and charged them to allow their coaches in the schools to train and nurture pupils into stardom.

The event  was the peak of preliminary matches earlier played for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of AOPSHON’s Cup, held at African Church Central Primary School field, Ita Iyalode, Abeokuta.

The Acting Education Secretary, Abeokuta North Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Mrs Oke Oluseye Taiwo, while presenting the Award to the Council Chairman, appreciated him for his relentless efforts in uplifting the Educational standard of the Local Government and most especially, the distribution of School Bags to the Pupils in the Local Government Area, during the celebration of his 100days in office.t

The AOPSHON’s Chairman, Com. Babatunde Gbolahan, represented by Com Akinro, appreciated the  administration and pleaded for Government intervention in education matters across the Local Government Areas.

The event was witnessed by the Local Government NUT Chairman, Com. Odubela; National Youth Leader, ABNLG, Com. Emmanuel Ojo and other dignitaries.
