Amb. Ogunsola, Congratulates Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award Winner, Comrade Akeem Badru

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi- Owode Local government has congratulated the 2023 Cambridge Best Dedicated Teacher Award Winner, Comrade Akeem Badru, organized by the Cambridge University Press and Assessment.

Amb. Ogunsola also expressed his Joy for the noble achievement, while addressing the delegation from Obafemi-Owode Local Government Education Authority led by the Executive Secretary, Chief Adeoye Olaseni, to present the Award Winner to the chairman at his office.

He further charged the Award winner not to relent in his effort as reward for good work is more work. He then assured the LGEA delegation of presenting the Award Winner to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, in appreciation for the honour he has brought not only to Obafemi Owode Local Government but also to Ogun State, while a cash donation was also presented to him by the chairman.

Earlier Hon. Chief Adeoye Olaseni, Executive Secretary, LGEA, while addressing the council chairman, stated that, their aim of visiting, is to formally present the Award Winner, Comrade Akeem Badru to the chairman.

He appreciated the commitment of the council boss in providing the conducive environment for learning for the pupils, by constructing blocks of classrooms at Agboopa and Leguru Communities which over the years has been a challenge to the affected community areas.

He also used the opportunity to thank the council boss for appointing him and other LGEA Exco Board to oversee the affairs of the education sector in the council area.

Similarly, Comrade Akeem Badru, Award Winner of 2023 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher, also expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his people.

He explained that, it is an homecoming for him, as he hailed from Obafemi Owode Local government area. He then promised to uphold the interest of the pupils in his teaching profession and hope for more achievements in future.

The Award Winner, Comrade Akeem Badru  is a teacher at St. Michael RCM Primary School. He won, for setting a world record as the Best Dedicated Teacher out of over 11,000 nominations across the continents as adjudged by the Cambridge judges out of six amazing teachers that emerged as the Regional Winners.

Chief Kayode Dipeolu, Secretary to Local Government, in his parting shots assured them of earliest presentation of the award winner to the State Governor as promised by the council chairman.

Others in attendance at the meeting included: Hon. Titus Olusesi, Vice Chairman; Mr. Fatai Ogundele, Head of Local Government Administration amongst others.
