AMBASSADOR OGUNSOLA ADMONISH YOUTHS ON SPORTS PARTICIPATION

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi- Owode local government, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina has admonished youths to embrace sporting activities rather than engaging in illicit acts that are inimical to the growth of the society.

Ambassador Ogunsola stated this during the hosting of the year 2021 Dapo Abiodun Mind Games organised by the Ogun state Sports Council, where Ayo Olopon, Draught and Chess were played and winners were emerged and handsomely rewarded.

The Chairman, ably represented by the Director General Services and Administration, Mr Johnson Oyekan, who declared the programme opened and further charged the youths to show more interest in games as it serves a lot of purpose for the good people of the local government and Ogun state at large

The Council Chairman in his message further stressed that, the games will reduced stress and spur ability to think fast, as the adage says, an idle hand is the devil’s workshop.

“As a lover of Sports and have served as a Board Director in the Ministry of Sports year 2004 to 2007, I will give support to Sports development any time” the chairman said.

He then thanked the Executive Governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for his fatherly support at all time and for making the Annual games festival come to reality.

Similarly, the Director of Sports, Ogun State Sports Council, Mrs Iyabo Oluwarotimi, while delivering her speech, applauded the Council boss for his support in making the event a memorable one.

She said the purpose of the Mind games is to discover new talents among our people, be it youth or old.

At end of the games, Mr Musiliu Iyanda came first in Ayo olopon, male category; while Mrs Adebesin Bolanle for the female category and many winners were rewarded accordingly in other categories.
