AMBASSADOR OGUNSOLA READS RIOT ACT TO NULGE ASPIRANTS

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Hon. Ogunsola Adesina, has organized a Peace meeting with the NULGE Caretaker Committee, Security Agencies, management officers and the  Aspirants contesting in the forth coming NULGE Election of the Council which is scheduled to hold on Thursday 27th October, 2021, at the Council Secretariat, Obafemi-Owode.

In his keynote address, Hon. Ogunsola as an Ambassador of Peace advised the aspirants to resist the act of thuggery and hooliganism, stating that everyone is a winner and they should strive to protect their names for future references.

Hon. Ogunsola disclosed that “he belongs to nobody but rather belongs to everybody.” He emphasised on Peace and tranquility for progress to thrive.

The Council Boss, also implored the aspirants to maintain Peace and order before, during, and after the election, while urging the D.P.O. Obafemi Owode, Mr Olusola Oniyiku to order the arrest of anybody that violates the election rules.

Ambassador Ogunsola said, his plans is to give Council Secretariat a new look within hundred days in office and therefore, urged the aspirants to put their trust in God, embrace the sportmanship and brotherliness, while promising to put in place adequate security throughout the period of the election.

Hon. Ogunsola, thanked everyone for honouring his invitation within a short notice and also prayed for peace, love, unity and progress in Obafemi-Owode Local Government.

While speaking, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Titus Olusesi Babatunde said, it is the right of every members to contest for election, while imploring the aspirants to avoid any act of violence.

Meanwhile, the NULGE Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mr Wole Sorunke, stated that several meetings had been called to agitate for Peace with the aspirants.

Responding, Comrade Wale Afoape, the Public Relations officer, NULGE Ogun State, said, there must be an adequate Security on ground during the election and assured of free and fair election.

Moreover, all the aspirants, collectively agreed and promised to maintain Peace and tranquility before, during and after the election.

In his own view, the DSS boss Mr Hamzat Kolawole, advised the contestants to put their trust in God and urged the general Staff to vote wisely.

The  NSCDC Officer, Mr Olanrewaju Adewale present at the meetin, implored the aspirants to be law abiding during the election, stating that  there will surely be winners likewise loosers in every election.

Furthermore, the DPO, Obafemi Owode Local government, Mr Olusola Oniyiku said, the aspirants should embrace peace and maturity throughout the election period, while imploring the electoral body to hasting the compilation of undertaking.

Thereafter, the aspirants were called upon to sign the statement of undertaking one after the other.

Present at the meeting, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr F.I. Ogundele and other Heads of Departments.
