ANGRY MOB VANDALIZED OGUN STATE FIRE SERVICES ENGINE.
Angry mob were on Friday 25th of June, destroyed the Operational fire truck of Ilaro station of Ogun State Fire Service.
According to the Ilaro Area Commander of the State Fire bridgage, A.C.F.S Fayomi, the unfortunate act was borne out of anger melted on the Firemen who were call upon to perform their official duty.
At about 14:35 hours (02:35 PM), the station received a distress call by the Ilaro Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP Jacob to a vehicle on fire around Sabo junction of the town.
And immediately, the fire brigade, swung into action and proceeded to the scene, not knowing that the fire outbreak was an ARSON case.
On getting to the scene, the firemen and the fire truck with registration number OG128A/09 were attacked by the hoodlums and also inflict injuries on the Firemen while A.C.F.S Fayomi narrowly escaped being killed.
It was then discovered that the vehicle that was on fire belong to Dangote group of company.
And the trailer which is loaded with cement was set ablaze by the hooligans because it has crushed a secondary school student of about 15 year old boy to death from Baptist High school, Ilaro, in Yewa South Local Government of the the State.
However, State Director of the Fire Services, Engr. Fatai Adefala has condemmed the unruly act.
