ASLG Council Boss, Hon Majekodunmi Appeases Okada Riders Protesters on Union Extortioners

The Executive Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi has calmed the tension of the motorcyclists in the Council Area on the excessive registration fees levy on them by their Unions, which made them to picket the Secretariat, today, January 24, 2022.
The motorcyclists said the accumulation of annual registration fees imposed by the three (3) Unions, ACOMORAN, AMORAN and ROMO in the State is outrageous, they implored the LG Chairman to use his good office to call those in-charge of the fees to order, to reduce the unaffordable registration fee.
According to Jimoh Azeez, a commercial rider at Asero posited that the Executive Chairman should earnestly look into the grievances before it escalates to fracas amongst the established riders’ Union in the Council Area.
In response, the Council helmsman, Hon. Majekodunmi pleaded with them to exercise more patience and promised that, Chairmen of the established Unions in the Area would be invited immediately for a round table meeting, to discuss the headlong registration fees.
He further stated that, they should adhere strictly to Okada Riders safety measures, put on their helmets while riding and as well ensure they carry just a passenger.
