Associates, Mentees, Friends Holds A Day of Tributes for Erudite Communication Scholar, Late Prof. Lai Oso on Wednesday

A line up of activities for a day of Tributes for Late Professor Lai Oso, has been made public. An event put together by mentees, friends and associates to celebrate the life and times of the great academic icon and erudite media and communication Scholar.

According to the Chairman, Organising Committee, Professor Dele Odunlami, the event   scheduled for Wednesday, the 12th of July, 2023, at the OGD Hall, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta from 11am to 3:00 pm will feature an array of activities including tributes, special musical renditions capturing the life and times of the great scholar among others.

The event is being put together by tertiary institutions in Ogun State offering Mass Communication and professional associations such as Nigeria Union Journalists, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Ogun State chapters, including the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Ogun State Television, (OGTV), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni,  friends and associates of the deceased and the Victory Life Bible Church, Abeokuta where late Prof Lai Oso was a Pastor before his demise.

Prof Lai Oso died on Saturday 24th June in a ghastly motor accident while returning from a trip to Delta State University, Abraka where he had gone to examine some PhD students.

1.0. The programme for the Day of Tributes scheduled for OGD Hall, MAPOLY, Ojere, Abeokuta is out. The three-hour ceremony will follow the programme pattern laid out below by the committee:

3.     11.15 -11.20 AM: Why are we here? A welcome brief on the rationale behind the program — a Representative of the      Organizing Committee.

5.     11.30  — 11.40 AM: The man – Lai Oso (Citation/ Biopics)
6.     11.40 – 11.50 AM : 1st Tribute (NUJ, Ogun Chapter)
7.     11.50 – 11.55AM : Noon : Rendition from Victory Life Bible Church
8.     11.55 – 12.05 Noon : 2nd Tribute (Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago – Iwoye)
9.     12.05 – 12.15 PM : 3rd Tribute (Crescent University, Abeokuta)
10. 12.15 – 12.25PM : Musical rendition (MAPOLY)
11. 12.25 —  12.35PM : 4th Tribute (Babcock University, Ilishan)
12. 12.35 – 12.45PM : 5th Tribute (McPherson University, Seriki -Sotayo)
13. 12.45 – 12.55PM : 6th  Tribute (NIPR, Ogun State Chapter)
14. 12.55 – 1.00PM : Interlude (VLBC Choir)

3.0. This event is an open one. Everybody is entitled and invited to attend. The hall’s sitting capacity is sufficient, big enough to accommodate the expected guests.
