AYORINDE COMMISERATES WITH VICTIMS OF LAFENWA INFERNO

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Ayorinde has commiserated with the victims of the fire disaster at Lafenwa market in Abeokuta.

In the early hours of Sunday, 28th, November, 2021, a fully loaded tanker of PMS- premium motor spirit- Petrol overturned while making it’s bound along mile 2, Rounda axis from oju- irin, Lafenwa market, fell off and discharged some of the content into a nearby drainage channel which releases water waste into Ogun River.

It was however ignited from an unknown source and resulted into a blaze of fire which engulfed some Lock up Shops and Open Stalls.

The Local Government delegation ably led by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ayoola Oluajo, who represented the Council Chairman, visited the scene of the incident to Commiserated and inspect the degree of damage to lives and properties.

He stated that the Administration of Prince Ayorinde, will collaborate with the State Government to provide succour to the affected victims.

Also, the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Sanni Sikiru, while speaking, stated that all and sundry should stay calm as government will take necessary actions and advised that people should always stay out of danger by not seeing such as an opportunity  to loot the Market Stalls and Shops.

Among the delegates were: Head of Local Government Administration, Mr Babatunde Owolabi; Principal members of the Legislative House and Management Staff of Abeokuta North Local Government amongst others.
