BEWARE OF SYCOPHANTS, CLERIC COUNSELS IKENNE LG BOSS
By Tope Oyekan
A Catholic cleric and the presiding priest of the St. John’s Vianneys Catholic Church, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, Rev. Father Uche OKOCHA, has counselled the Executive Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, to be wary of Sycophants and Charlatans, who have nothing good to offer him and his government.
Father OKOCHA gave this counsel on Tuesday, while speaking at the Day 2 of the Annual Universal Week of Prayer organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria, Iperu Remo Area, and hosted by the Council Chairman.
In his short exhortation at the service, the cleric charged the Council boss to jettison sycophants and charlatans who are always in large numbers flock around Public office holders, urging him to lead well, and always relate with, and feel the pulse of the common man, whom he was elected to serve and charged him to write his name in Gold.
Speaking on the theme, “Hope of Victory After Suffering”, Father OKOCHA enjoined all believers to allow their faith to be deeply rooted in Jesus Christ, who has the Power of Salvation.
“Faith is putting everything in the hands of Jesus Christ, and believing it is well”, said Father OKOCHA.
Responding, the host, Hon. OGUNLEYE thanked the organiser, for choosing him as one of the hosts of the prayer session.
He also appreciated the association’s support, while blessing God for the achievements recorded since assumption of office, as he seeks further collaboration with his administration.
He commended the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo ABIODUN MFR, for his intervention in roads infrastructure, and the ongoing construction of the Gateway Agro Cargo Airport which will positively turn around the socio-economic fortunes of the community.
Prayers were offered for the Chairman; Iperu Remo; Ikenne Local Government; Ogun State; and Nigeria.
The Chairman, Iperu Area CAN, Evang. Olawunmi VINCENT, led other officers and members of the association to the session.
High-point of the event was the launching of the Year 2022 calendar of the association by the Executive Chairman, Hon. OGUNLEYE.
