Buckle Up for this New Task- Hon. Adesina Charges Newly Sworn-in LGEA Executive Secretary, Board Chairman, others

The importance of primary education has once again been brought to the front burner as bedrock and foundation of national development. It is on the above premise, that the executive chairman, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa has charged the newly sworn- in executive secretary, Chairman and board members of the Local Government Education Authority to buckled up for the new task ahead of them.
He gave the charge during the inaugural ceremony of the executive secretary, Board Chairman and other members of the Local Government Education Authority, held at the council Secretariat conference room, Itori.
The council boss, stressed that the task of enhancing primary and secondary school education at the grassroots level for the attainment of optimal quality should be their concern.
Hon Adesina urged them to join hands with his administration in order to move the local government to a high and enviable pedestal and they should also give unalloyed support to the administration of the amiable governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR , in building the future of Ogun State together.
“As a responsible and responsive government, we shall not shy away from the role of providing affordable and qualitative education to the citizenry at the grassroots and for this, I am assuring you of our commitment, cooperation and unprecedented support towards achieving excellent education system for our pupils as well as better welfare of educational staffs”, the chairman reassured.
The council helmsman, further disclosed that his administration had been doing everything possible in ensuring that pupils learn in a conducive atmosphere, a clear example of these gestures included; provision of desks and benches for schools, rehabilitation of a block of classrooms at Baptist Day Primary School, Agbon; scholarship award to 50 students to study at Owu College of Management and Technology and printing of customized exercise books for the pupils in the council area.
Hon Adesina while appreciating the governor Dapo Abiodun, on behalf of the appointees said, ” I wish to express my appreciation to the performing governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for deeming it fit to appoint these experienced personalities at this crucial period.”
” It is what I will term, putting round pegs in round holes to fill the vacuum in all Local government Education Authorities, particularly, Ewekoro Local Government”, the chairman added.
The newly inaugurated Executive Secretary, Local Government Education Authority, Mr Semiu Adelani, in his vote of thanks, expressed on behalf of other appointees, their gratitude to the governor for the opportunity given them to serve.
In the same vein, Mr Adelani also appreciated the council chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa, for the wonderful job, he had been doing since assumption of office, by making the council one of the best in Nigeria and Ogun State in particular.
He promised on behalf of others that, as charged by the chairman during his speech, they would discharge the duties assign to them with dexterity.
Fifteen appointees were sworn- in, with Mr. Semiu Adelani as the executive secretary, alongside 4 other officers who are to serve as chief monitoring officer and monitoring officers. Similarly, 10 appointees were equally sworn- in as board members, with Mr Kazem Okanlawon being the chairman of the board and others as members.
The colourful event was witnessed by APC party stalwarts, in the council area; the vice chairman, Hon Olabode Olasunkanmi Adegoke; leader of the legislative house, Hon Abiola Muheeb Kehinde; Secretary to the local government, Mr. Okanlawon Adewunmi; the APC Party chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Chief Sbogbamu Ayinde; former council chairman, Hon Davies Akinwande, all supervisors, special advisers, consultants; the head of local government administration, Engineer Ayoade A.A. and a host of others.
