CAPACITY BUILDING: HON. DELANO ASSURES STAFF OF MORE TRAINING

The Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Chief Mrs Kikelomo Delano has assured members of staff in the Council Area on capacity building in a bid to improve their productivity at work.
The Council boss gave the words of assurance while declaring closed a day training organized for the Directors and Heads of Departments, Unit Heads and other Senior officers, held at the conference room of the local government secretariat.
She stressed that, she believed so much in training and retraining of staff on new trends, as that is the only way human beings can multiply intellectually.
Hon. Delano then used the medium to appreciate the authority of the Local Government Service Commission under the able leadership of Barr. Olubukunola Onabanjo for being the brain behind the initiative and also for the support received always.
The Head of Local Government Administration in the Council Area, who also served as the facilitator, Mrs. Taiwo Akintomide enjoined all the Directors and Heads of Department on the need to train and retrain members of staff in their various departments as knowledge is transient.
She advised the teaming staff to make themselves available for the exercise.
The sessions were interactive and members of staff understood the salient practical things encountered during their day-to-day activities of the Local Government.
Representing the Commission, Mr. Adekoyejo Adebule, while delivering the commission’s message commended the efforts of the management of Ifo Local Government for organizing training and retraining of its members of Staff
He stated that, the Council Area is the third to key into the vision and mission of the Commission, which is, to have a local government service that is effective and efficient in service delivery provided by its crop of well trained and disciplined personnel.
Also included in the training session was a medical talk by Dr. Olalekan Oke, the Medical Officer for the Local Government.
He urged members of staff to always live a healthy life especially in these difficult times in the country as well as observing all the Covid -19 protocols as the pandemic is still ravaging our society and that, they should get vaccinated.
Appreciating the Commission on behalf of Ifo Local Government, the Director of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Department, and the State President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Comr. Ayuba Olatunji thanked the Commission for not only advising the local government on what to do, but also monitoring its activities by making sure that, at least a representative is around to monitor the exercise.
