In commemoration of this year’s Children’s Day, Hon. Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi has celebrated all the children in Abeokuta South Local Government and urged parents, guardians and the Government to protect child rights at all times.
The Chairman stated this in his children’s day message today 27th May, 2024.

He explained further that as we celebrate Nigerian Children today, we must also remember that violence is perpetrated against one in four Nigerian Children, hence we must commit to reinforcing the protection mechanisms for them.

According to the Council Boss, it is the right of every Nigerian child to have access to a qualitative education irrespective of their situation or location.
We must act in their best interests and deploy innovative solutions to fast-track learning and health services.

The Council Helmsman said that Nigerian Children are resilient, talented and aspire to do great things and it is the responsibility of all and sundry to give them the platform and encouragement to achieve that.

Meanwhile, Hon. Omolaja reiterated that protecting children and investing in women as well as families is not only the right thing to do, but it has proven to be a sound economic choice and a cost-effective tool for National development.

He thereafter encouraged the parents, guardians, teachers and all the stakeholders to join hands in ensuring that a good legacy and sound moral is given to tomorrow’s leaders
