Curbing Insecurity: OBAFEMI OWODE LG BOSS HOSTS OGUN COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode local government, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, received the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Sikiru Bankole in his office and commended the Nigerian Police Force in its efforts to reduce crime rates in the State.
Ambassador Ogunsola who gave the commendation during the courtesy visit of the Commissioner of Police to his office at the Council Secretariat, Owode Egba, said the efforts of Security Agencies in tackling insecurity in Ogun State and Nigeria in general is highly commendable.
While congratulating CP Lanre Sikiru Bankole on his well deserved promotion and posting to Ogun state, the Council Boss said ” based on your track records, there is no doubt the premise that you have exhibited brilliance in your chosen career in Nigeria Police Force”.
He also commended the prompt response of Ogun Police Force Command to security issues in the State, particularly Obafemi Owode Local government and its environs, adding that, the activities of the law enforcement agencies particularly the Nigeria Police had been appreciated in ensuring peace and tranquility due to their efficiency in aborting various insecurity issues.
He then charged the Commissioner of Police not to relent in his efforts in protecting lives and properties in the State and acknowledged the Security Agencies as an important pillar to good governance and better future.
“I am happy to inform you that our administration in partnership with a Private organization has unveiled an Ultra Modern Trailer Park in Degbe Community Via Ogunmakin in Obafemi Owode Local government Area.
“The place was identified as black spot where evil acts are being carried out by hoodlums, on completion, it will reduce all forms of evil act at the spot and as well create job opportunities for our people as issues of unemployment is one of the causes of insecurity in the country” the Chairman said
The Chairman then commended the efforts of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for the good work he has been doing to make Ogun state a Peaceful one.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State command, CP Lanre Sikiru Bankole said that, this is the third time he will be in the Council Secretariat where he once served as DPO, Owode Egba in 2004; Area Commander, Sagamu in 2012 and now as the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State command.
“I know Obafemi Owode as a familiar terrane, I will help further in beefing up the security of the area and its environs” the CP said.
CP Bankole stated further that, Obafemi- Owode Local government still remain the flagship of Ogun state, “we have best industries within the Council Area, the issue of security, Nigeria Police will continue to partner with Obafemi Owode Local government for the safety of our people and properties” CP added
Nigeria Police are committed to the fact that, the good people of Ogun state must sleep with their two eyes closed and this can be achieved by ensuring good quality work in beefing up the security network.
“We are not going to take Obafemi Owode local government for granted as regards Security issues” CP concluded
