The South West zone of the Nigera Union of Journalists (NUJ) has urged Muslims in the country to use the occasion of this year’s Eid El Kabir to pray for peace in all parts of the country.

The Vice President of the zone, Comrade Cosmas Olalekan Oni in a goodwil message issued by the zonal Secretary, Bamigbola Gbolagunte to felicitate with Muslims said the current security situation of the country calls for prayers.

The union which comprises of Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Lagos and Ogun State councils of the NUJ tasked the government to fight the current challenges facing security in the country to a standstill.

Also, the zone, otherwise known as NUJ Zone B called on Muslims to demonstrate the culture of obedience which Eid El Kabir stands for in all their dealings.

The union enjoined Muslims and non Muslims to obey the authorities in all their endeavours, just as it urged the government to also respect the constitutional rights of the citizens.

While praying for an end to all challenges facing the nations of the earth, especially Nigeria, the Union called on Muslims to pray for an end to COVID 19 and other challenges.
