EKLG 2022 Ramadan Lecture : Hon. Adesina Urges Nigerians to Pray for Peace and Restoration of Nigeria

The Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa (ESKAY) has urged Nigerians to pray fervently for the peace and restoration of the country.

The entreaty was made by the Chairman at a Twin Ramadan lectures organised by Ewekoro Local Government in conjunction with the League of Imams and Alfas of the Council Area, held at the council’s secretariat, Itori.

Hon Adesina , noted that Nigeria as a country is presently facing a lot of hard nut to crack problems which are calling for the attention of all and sundry, not excluding Christian faithfuls.

” Let us join hands together to Pray for the healing of our dear country, as I strongly believe that Allah (SWT) is the All-hearing, the most forgiving and the most compassionate but we all need to do our parts first”  the Chairman said.

Hon Adesina, also advised the Muslim Faithfuls to take advantage of the holy month to the best of their capability to purify their souls, do more deeds as commanded by Allah and beseech Allah’s (SWT) guidance, peace, forgiveness and blessings that come with the month.

He prayed that Allah would accept their fasting and other good deeds during the holy month of Ramadan as acts of Ibadah and grant them many Ramadan on earth.

Delivering the first lecture, tagged, “Role of Youths towards Nation Building”, Fadilat Sheik Salman Ibrahim Ajilogbaso likened youths to spinal cord that is very fragile and expedient for survival, therefore, youths must take care at their tender age, in preparation for the challenges ahead; as those who would take up the leadership mantle.

The Islamic cleric, reiterated that the youths must be sound in all ramifications so that the nation could as well witness the necessary developments across board.

He implored all the youths who have travelled far and wide to use the education and experiences garnered abroad to develop the nation.

Sheik Salman Ibrahim enjoined all parents to ensure that their children make use of the indigenous language in order to promote their culture and tradition which is fasting going into extinction.

He also urged well-meaning individuals to always assist less privileged children in their communities, in order to prevent them from jeopardizing the efforts of the privileged youths in the nation building.

While delivering the second lecture, tagged,”Role of Parents on their Children”, Fadilat Sheik Al’man Ibrahim Abdul Rahman Oluwabi, Chief Imam of Obada Land, expressed with regret that, it is disheartening that these days, many parents leave the moral upbringing of their children unattended to but rather go in search of prosperity that would come to naught at the end of the day.

Sheik Oluwabi reminded parents that they would be held accountable for the deeds and misdeeds of their children and therefore urged them to ensure they do their bits by playing positive roles in the upbringing of their children.

Special prayers were offered for Ewekoro Local Government, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole by Fadilat Sheik Imam Muhydeen Adebayo Lawal (Aranse), Chief Imam,Ewekoro and the grand Chief Imam, Ewekoro Local Government.

The highlight of the event was the award of scholarship to Master Mutiu Kasim to study at the University of Ilorin by Hon Isiaka Ibrahim, member of the House of Representatives, representing Ifo / Ewekoro Local Governments constituency for his mastery and dexterity of recitation of the Holy Quran that held many people spell bound.
