The newly retired Head of Works and Housing Department of Ifo Local Government, Engr. Musiliu Okanlawon Durokifa has been eulogized to have left indelible marks in the mind of all the political class and entire workforce in the Council area as he is bowing out of the Ogun State Local Government Service after a 35 years meritorious service without blemish.

The Executive Chairman, Ifo Local Government, Hon. Chief (Mrs) Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano, gave the assertion on Wednesday, 16th November, 2022 at a retirement/ pen down program organized in honor of the outgoing officer.

Having listened to various encomiums from the political functionaries, senior, and junior colleagues who have served with the celebrant, Hon Delano added that those who are still in service should emulate his good character “as what we do today will become history tomorrow”

Speaking earlier, the Director, Promotion, Posting and Transfer, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Taiwo Akintomide, described Engr. Durokifa as a diligent, responsible, committed and dedicated officer who discharged his duties promptly and judiciously.

Mrs Akintomide, equally enjoined him to dedicate the rest of his life more to serving God, While she prayed for continue peace and tranquility for the retiree and his family.

Speaking on behalf of Mr. Akinyemi Adeyanju, Head of Local Government Administration; Dr. Olusoji Adekoya, the Director, Planning, Research, Budget, and Statistics while welcoming the guests into the venue stressed that, the retiree had come, seen, and conquer

He congratulated him for the successful retirement from service and thanked Almighty God for the journey mercies to and fro various Local Governments without any blemish. He later prayed for his long life and prosperity.

The Head of Local Government Administration, Ewekoro Local Government, Engr. Anthony Ayoade who spoke on behalf of the Engineer forum in the local government service, described the retiree as a thoroughbred professional, exemplary, highly dependable and  diamond to the engineering profession.

He however vouched that, though he’s retired from active service but, he’s still fit and can be consulted at either Local, State, or Federal levels considering his wealth of experience and integrity which is second to none.

Other people who lends their voices to the unrelenting, trustworthiness, instrumentality, and workability of the celebrant included; Hon. Oladapo Adebesin, Vice Chairman; Hon. Adeleye Olanrewaju, Leader of Legislative Arms; Hon. Idris Olalekan Kushimo, Secretary to Local Government; Pastor Wole Adeosun, Head of Local Government Administration, Abeokuta South Local Government; Engr. Richard Bamiduro, a developer;  Engr. Adewale Yisa (Rtd), Chief Waheed Kelani, Nijaye, Baale Agosi amongst many others.

Engr. Durokifa’s 35 years in service coincided with his 60th birthday and he had served in various Local Governments: Ifo, Odeda, Remo North, Ewekoro, Odogbolu, Imeko/ Afon, Yewa North and many more.

It was recalled that the celebrant started his career at Ifo Local Government as Technical Officer and retired at same, as an Engineer and Director of the Department.

The valedictory service was well attended by the Executive, Legislative Arms, Career Officers both serving and retired from Ifo Local Government and other Local Governments of the State, Community Leaders, families, friends, associate, and well-wishers.
