Ewekoro LG: Adesina Attends to Itori – Onigbedu Junction Road

As part of the electoral campaign promises of the Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa, to make life meaningful and bearable for the people of the Council Area, embarked on a palliative measures on the deplorable ITORI /IYANA ONIGBEDU JUNCTION on the old Lagos – Abeokuta Road in the Area.
According to a press release signed by the Council’s Director of Information, Sakiru Olopade, Hon Adesina embarked on the road project despite being a Federal or State Government responsibility.
The Council Boss stated that the palliative measures became imperative due to the hardship the road users are being subjected to on daily basis, couple with the gridlock that used to occur whenever it rains.
” As a responsible and responsive government, it is behoved on us to ameliorate the suffering of our people, ensure better and meaningful life for the down trodden without minding the tribe or affiliation. Though the council is bedevilled with scarce resources, not withstanding, we must find means of catering for our people” the chairman said.
“In this regard, I also charged all the companies, private business owners in the council area to come to the aid of the government by discharging their social and corporate responsibilities by taken cue from DANGOTE CEMENT FACTORY.” chairman added.
Hon Adesina, also appealed to the council indigenes and residents, to see it as a matter of necessity to remit their taxes, levies to the coffers of the council, to enable the government bring enough dividend of democracy to their door steps.
Some of the commercial motorists who spoke, expressed their appreciation to Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa for the palliative measures, which according to them, will provide temporary succour to the people but urged the government to come up with permanent solution to the perennial problem, though they acknowledged, that it is beyond the capability and jurisdiction of the local government.
The motorists, therefore, implored the Federal government to at least rehabilitate the road.
