
Ewekoro LG Council Boss, Hon Adesina Bags Icon of Local Government Administration Award 2023

.... Olu of Itori, Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede lauds Hon Adesina Sikiru on a well deserved award.
Behaviour is like a cloth hung in the sun, only passersby can tell how it is. This African proverb speaks it all, as people showered encomiums on Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State during the presentation of Award by the City Herald Magazine, as the Icon of Local Government Administration 2023, at the council’s conference room, Itori.
Speaking during the award presentation, Dr. Dickson Bewaji Esq, the chairman, Award Planning Committee of the City Herald Magazine, disclosed that the award was conceived as part of their contribution towards the upliftment of the society, especially as the nation is consolidating on her nascent democracy. By providing a veritable platform to recognize selfless service amongst the public office holders.
His words: ” There is no other time than now, to start identifying and celebrating those who have effectively utilized every opportunity at their disposal to lead at one level or the other for the good of our people”, Dr. Dickson explained.
According to Dickson Bewaji, five local government chairmen were shortlisted for the award in Ogun State based on their performances, most especially on Infrastructural development, projects that have direct impact on the people.
He added that, while going round Ogun State council areas for on the spot assessment, they discovered that Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa is an uncommon politician, a grassroots politician to the core, who has immensely transformed Ewekoro Local Government.
“Hon Adesina has shown that he is not just an executive chairman, but really determine to put lay down a legacy that will stand the test of time.
“Having considered his technical and pragmatic know how in the area of management, administration and political prowess, the Award Planning Committee decided to select Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, as the winner of the City Herald Magazine ” ICON OF LOCAL GOVT ADMINISTRATION AWARD FOR YEAR 2023″, Dickson stressed.
The event that coincided with the meeting of the Obas in the council area, afforded the royal fathers to be part of the historical award presentation.
The Olu of Itori, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo, the Olu Nla of Itori, Agbodere the 1st, while speaking on behalf of the council of Obas in Ewekoro Local Government, expressed their appreciation to the editorial board of City Herald Magazine for honouring the Council Chairman.
The monarch said, ” winning the award is not surprising to us, it is just an attestation to the fact that, Hon Adesina’s performances have not gone unnoticed by the people. Hon Adesina has changed the face of Ewekoro Local Government with laudable projects that previous administrations can not boast of. Honestly, our chairman has really beaten my imagination.”
Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede, then prayed that Allah would continue to protect and guide him as he continue to steer the ship of Ewekoro Local Government.
Speaking earlier, the council chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru thanked City Herald Magazine for the award.
” I just want to advise us that whatever we do or wherever we find ourselves, let us do our part very well, because you can’t tell who is watching you. And people from both far and near are taken note of our deeds, either good or bad. At least, I didn’t know the organizers of this award but today my good deeds have been noticed from afar and being rewarded openly”, the chairman stated emphatically.
The colourful event had in attendance, the Royal fathers, the political and career functionaries of Ewekoro Local Government.
In the meantime, the award has made it, two awards received within this month.
Earlier in the month, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa, emerged as the winner of the Distinguished Chairman of Local Government in Nigeria Award on “ROADS AND RURAL INTEGRATION”, by ROOTSWATCH MAGAZINE.
