Ewekoro LG: Hon. Adesina Lays Foundation of 56 Locked Up Shops, Garage at Papalanto Market

The Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has once again reiterated his administration unwavering commitment and determination in doing everything possible to boost the economy of the council area which includes, creation and expansion of markets as well as Infrastructural development.

The council boss made the statement during the foundation laying of 56 locked up shops and garage at Papalanto market.

According to Hon Adesina, when completed, the project would save the people from the stress of transportation while trying to get affordable goods and services from Lagos or other cities, as well as, a positive impact that would reduce the level of unemployment in the area.

His words: ” My good people of Papalanto, our administration project crusade has berthed in your area today, to further improve the economy and lives of both citizens and dwellers of Papalanto ward by laying the foundation of these 56 locked up shops and garage which will bring business close to our people”,

In the same vein, the council’s helmsman disclosed that his administration had also approved the construction of additional 120 locked up shops and garage in Papalanto, thereby turning it to the commercial hub of the local government area.

“The foundation Laying of this gigantic project will at the long run, turn Papalanto to a safe haven for dwellers and travellers as we have in major cities in the country”, the chairman stated.

“Equally, the market landscape will soon be embarked upon, in order to control the waterlog and erosion challenges in the area”, he added.

Hon Adesina, therefore solicited for the continual support and cooperation of the people for his administration, in order to move the local government to an enviable heights.

“We should also continue to cooperate with the administration of His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, for him to fulfill his promises to the people of Ogun State. I equally want to seek for your unflinching support and prayers for our amiable president, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, so that he can lead Nigeria to the promise land”, the chairman stated passionately.

Speaking at the event, the highly elated Onipapa of Papalanto, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rasaq Jimoh Famuyiwa, commended the council chairman, Hon Adesina Adisa, for remembering his domain with the laudable project, stressing that, since assumption of the throne as Onipapa of Papalanto fifteen years ago, the project would be the second one.

“After the commissioning of 32 locked up shops at Yeye Olufunke Daniel shopping complex at Itori, I sent message to the chairman in respect of considering Papalanto in terms of project and he assured me that Papalanto is the next place. Today, he has made good his promise. Honestly, our chairman is a man of his words”, Oba Famuyiwa disclosed.

The monarch, therefore appealed to the government to ensure that the rent fee for the shops are not exorbitant so that common man can also benefit.

Reacting, the councillor, representing Papalanto ward, Hon Olawoyin Azeez expressed his gratitude to the council chairman, Hon Adesina, for the honour done to his ward with the project, after being neglected by previous administrations.

“I want to appeal to my people at Papalanto to reciprocate the good gesture by giving unalloyed support to Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa led administration at all times in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy and more importantly move the local government to a greater height,”  Hon Olawoyin pleaded.

Since assumption of office, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa led administration has constructed many locked up shops across the council area which included:

Construction of 17 locked up shops at Obada- Oko.

Construction of 84 locked up shops and 72 open stalls at Arigbajo Market.

Construction of 73 locked up shops, 2 office spaces and 1 open stalls at old market, Obada–Oko.

Construction of 32 locked up shops at Yeye Olufunke Daniel shopping complex, Itori.
