Ewekoro LG Organizes in-house Training for Council’s Information Staffs

In accordance to the directives of Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, LGSC, that all the 20 Local Government Governments should, henceforth begin to organize in-house training for their members of staff, to engender better productivity of the workforce, improve resource utilization to serve the people at the grass root.

The Council organised in-house training for the members of staff of the Education, Information and Sports Department.

The lecture titled, “EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR FUNCTIONAL ADMINISTRATION : A CASE STUDY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ” , handled by the council’s Director of Information, Mr. Olopade Sakiru was highly interactive.

Mr. Olopade delved into nitty-gritty of the meaning of communication, the process involved in communication, communication within an organization, factors essential for effective communication and how to achieve effective communication for optimum performance.

Speaking earlier, the Director of General Services And Administration, Mrs Ogunyewo K., who was ably represented by the administrative officer, Mr. Fatai Akiode, urged the staffers of Information department to make good use of the opportunity to get themselves equipped and move with the new trends in information delivery.

Mrs Ogunyewo, explained that the lecture was in response to the directives of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission that in-house training, on a regular basis should be enshrined in the council’s program as a way of developing staffs’ manpower.

She disclosed that members of the service in other departments had gone through similar in-house training earlier.

The information staffs, at the end of the lecture, appreciated the management team of Ewekoro Local Government, for the rare opportunity, while asking for more of such lectures in no distant future.

They were also full of praises for the resource person whom they described as a teacher, arising from the manner he delivered the lecture.
