Ewekoro LG Organizes In-house Training for Staff

The outgoing Head of Local Government Administration, Ewekoro Local Government, Mr. Adeyanju Akinyemi has charged members of staff of the council to seize the opportunity of the in-house training to improve themselves on their job schedules.

The astute administrator, gave the charge in his opening remarks, at the opening ceremony of the programme, held at council’s secretariat, Itori .

Mr. Adeyanju emphasized that the training was targeted at re-newing and re-branding their knowledge on their job and also to inculcate the learning to better their ways of life.

He disclosed that this kind of training was long over due as majority of staff lack the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

” This training will expose our teeming members to the new method of handling the job in line with the latest techniques, most especially various technologies and new approach on the job ” he stated.

Mr. Adeyanju implored the resource persons to do justice to the various topics scheduled to be discussed while enjoining the participants to pay rapt attention to the lectures.

Speaking in the same vein, the newly posted Head of Local Government Administration, Engr. Ayoade A. A. who coincidentally reporting for duty stressed the importance of the training as a means of broadening one’s horizon and to cope with the challenges on the job,  giving them the leverage to compete favourably with their counterparts anywhere.

The renowned Engineer cum administrator, further stated that it was not enough to improve on competence alone but character building is also compulsory.

While speaking before delivering her lecture, the Director of General services and Administration, Mrs Kemi Ogunyewo, appreciated the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa (ESKAY LODU), for his unflinching support at all times and in particular the in-house training.

Mrs Ogunyewo, expressed her gratitude to the outgoing Holga, Mr Adeyanju Akinyemi for his fatherly role and open door policy which actually brought out the best in all the directors of various departments, working with sense of belonging and purpose.

She also welcomed the newly posted Holga, Engr. Ayoade A. A., with the assurance of their unalloyed support.

Mrs Ogunyewo urged the participants to be attentive and make good use of the opportunity, ensuring that the in-house training is not for fun, but to enhance their skills, capabilities and knowledge on the job.

The Branch Chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, Ewekoro Local Government, Comrade Abdulsalam Ibrahim, on behalf of the staff thanked the management for organizing the in-house training for the staff.

He said the training would go a long way in assisting and equipping the members of staff on the improve  capacity building.

Comrade Abdusalam, like an Oliver Twist, appealed to the management for more trainings for the staff, according to him, “learning is everyday activities”

The Participants were taken through topics such as Staff regulations and work ethics as it affects officers performance;
Improving Internally Generated Revenue and Life style changing for the management of Hypertension.
