Ewekoro Local Govt Boss, Hon Adesina, Commissions Lapeleke Primary Health Centre

The Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa has disclosed that, the council area under his leadership within the two years of his tenure has attained an enviable position amongst the comity of local governments in Ogun State in terms of infrastructural developments.

Hon Adesina Sikiru made the disclosure, during the official commissioning of the newly constructed Primary Health Centre at Lapeleke, donated by the Federal Government and facilitated by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency.

According to the council boss, ” World Health Organization (WHO), through Primary Health Care address majority of the health care needs of the people at the grassroots. It is sacrosanct to invest in good health facilities to sustain human value and to better the lots of people at the local government level. This has been demonstrated by the Federal Government through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency who has donated this beautiful and standard Health facility to Ewekoro Local Government”.

Hon Adesina said, it was the turn of Lapeleke community to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

” The Federal Government in collaboration with the Local Government has deemed it fit to provide standard and affordable health facility for the good people of this community to better their welfare.

” We hope that this project will serve as a testament of our promise to bring dividends of democracy to every part of the local government. It will also complement the efforts of our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, who  had been doing everything humanly possible to put Ogun State in an enviable position”, he added.

The council’s helmsman, therefore, used the occasion to enumerate various laudable projects that have been executed by his administration, which have had a great impact on the economic development of the council area, part of which included:

* Construction of 17 lock up shops at Obada-Oko

* Construction of 84 lock up shops and 72 open stalls at Arigbajo Market.

* Construction of 32 lock up shops at Yeye Olufunke shopping complex, Itori.

* Construction of block of classrooms and provision of Desk and Chairs at Baptist Day Primary School, Agbon.

* Scholarship to indigenous students in the local government.

* Empowerment programmes for the less privileged.

* Rehabilitation of health centres across various community in the council area.

He therefore, assured the people that, his administration would not relent to continue with laudable and people oriented projects that would place the council area among the performing local governments in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.

Speaking at the event, the Zonal Chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC), Comrade Oluseun Oke, expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government for citing the health center in their domain, while equally appreciating the council chairman, Hon Adesina, for his quick intervention in ensuring that the health centre became a reality.

Earlier, while welcoming the dignitaries at the event, the highly elated Area Chairman, Heritage, Itori, Chief Sobola Ayoola expressed his gratitude to the council chairman, Hon Adesina for his proactiveness at the short notice of the request of staff to the facility.

He, equally appreciated the Medical Officer of Health, Dr Afolabi Abosede as well as every individual that will be working at the health centre.

Chief Sobola, however, charged members of staff that would be working at the center to be up and doing.

His words “you are to complement the efforts of the government by putting in your best in terms of services to users of these facilities and ensure the health centre is jealously guided against vandalisation and theft. Sir, dear Chairman, we want to request for a permanent night guard to watch over these facility as well as medical personnels that will work at night”, he concluded.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the commissioning, the medical officer of the council, Dr. Afolabi Abosede thanked the Federal Government and the council chairman, Hon Adesina, for the provision of Lapeleke health centre, which she described as one of the best Health Centres with modern facilities that ease their job and provide comfortability to the patients.

Dr, Afolabi , then promised that all hands will be on deck to ensure that adequate and qualitative services are delivered by the medical personnels deployed to the newly commissioned Lapeleke Primary Health Centre to justify the purpose of its establishment.
