Flooding: Obafemi Owode Local Govt Receives Relief Materials From FG

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Hon. Ogunsola Adesina on Wednesday received relief materials on behalf of farmers who were affected by flood that ravaged their farmlands in the year 2020 from the Federal Government.

While receiving the Emergency Relief Materials from the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, in his office, at the Council Secretariat.

Hon Ogunsola appreciated the efforts of both the Federal and State governments in cushioning the effects of the disaster on the affected farmers and appealed for more intervention from the Federal government.

“As you are all aware Obafemi Owode local government is the biggest local government in South West that shares boundaries with two States, Lagos and Oyo states, we also shares boundaries with eight local governments in ogun state ,these relief materials brought cannot contain the affected farmers” he said.

While handing over the Relief Materials to the Council Boss, the Coordinator of the National Emmergency Management Agency in Obafemi Owode local government, Mr Tunde Mohammed said the agency have visited the affected farm lands, and have enumerated the farmers, that is the more reason we are here today to hand over the relief materials to the local government Chairman to cushion the effect of their loss.

Mr Mohammed then appealed to the affected farmers in the Council Area to manage the little they brought and use them accordingly.

The Materials brought included fertilizers, sprayers, herbicides grains and many others.
