FMC Abeokuta, Partners Ikenne LG. For Improved Healthcare Delivery

The Federal Medical Center, FMC, Abeokuta is to partner with Ikenne Local Government for improved healthcare delivery to her people.

A Medical Officer of the Centre, Dr. Gbolahan Fadahunsi -Sunmonu disclosed this, while leading a team of health practitioners from the Health institution on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye, in his office, at the Council Secretariat, Ikenne, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

According to him, the Federal Medical Centre shall collaborate with the Local Government to carry out series of surgical operation for her residents,
Which will be done through some Resident Doctors that will be posted to the Primary Health Center at Ikenne Ward 2, along the old Ilisan road.

He stated that, surgeries will be carried out at the Ikenne Ward 2, health center on the following diseases: Hydrocele, Hernia, Cataract and Breast Lumps.

Responding, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye thanked the team for the kind gesture and thoughtfulness in bringing such great opportunity to Ikenne Local Government.

He assured the team that the renovation of the Theatre to be used for the exercise will be carried out within two weeks, and also promised to give necessary support that will make the programme successful and hitch free.

The Council Boss also expressed  his appreciation to the President, Ikenne Development Association, Otunba Adedoyin Adesina, for the association’s effort at moving the local government forward.

The Director, Primary Health Care of the Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Esther Ogunsilu appreciated the Council Chairman for his administration’s support and commitment to the health department, so far
