Fuel Subsidy: Ijebu East LG Inaugurate Palliative Committee

The acting chairman Ijebu East local government, Hon, Adetutu Oyesanya has called on the people of the council area, to excercise patience in the face of the current hardship as a result of the removal of subsidy for petroleum products.

The acting chairman made this call during the inauguration of the local government fuel subsidy palliative coordinating committee held recently at the council secretariat, Ogbere.

Hon Adetutu Oyesanya enjoined the committee to be free, fair and equitable in the distribution of the palliative saying that the committee is saddled with the responsibility of getting the palliative materials across to the grassroots in line with the aims of the federal government through the state government, which is part of the efforts to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy.

The council boss, said members of the committee are Representatives of the people and respected members of the society, who have been carefully selected for strategic reason based on their credibility and integrity. And we are trusting that the task would be carried out judiciously without bias.

The chairman speaking further said that, the distribution would be carried out using the various pooling units in all the communities of Ijebu East local government.

“The task of the committee is also to ensure that the distribution is hitch free, devoid of any bias and intimidation. The target is the poorest of the poor and this is a call to service that must be done passionately for the good of our people”, Oyesanya said.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, the secretary to the local government, Hon Sina Ipaye promised that, the committee will carry out the assignment without fear or favour, adding that, they will do the job as entrusted to them, making sure all the categories of beneficiaries will enjoy the palliatives according to the state government mandate.

Members of the committee inaugurated included; Member Ogun state house of Assembly, representing Ijebu East local government, Hon.Waliu Owode; member central working committee, Dr. Omolayo Fred Omojole; the acting Chairman Ijebu East local government, Hon Adetutu Oyesanya; leader of the house, Hon Fasheyi Akindele: secretary to the local government Hon Sina Ipaye;

In addition are; representative of traditional rulers, HRM Oba Isiaka Ajede, ogirimadagbo of ilodo; representative of the baales, Chief Abayomi Obisanya; Christian Association of Nigeria representatives, Apostle Ikuelogbon and Apostle Akinjomo; League of Alfas and Imams, Imam Adelaja Azeez; National Youth Council representative, Mr Babatunde Yusuf; Community Development Committee, CDC, Hon. Fedelix Igbodipe and Hon. Safiriyu Ogunyemi; representatives of market women and National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
