Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, alongside business magnate Alhaji Aliko Dangote, inspected the ongoing construction of the 100.5km Obelle-Ilaro-Papalanto-Shagamu road, a major infrastructure project being executed by Dangote Group under the Tax Credit Scheme.
Speaking during the inspection, Governor Abiodun emphasized the significance of the road to Ogun State and Nigeria at large. He noted that once completed, it will provide a crucial alternative route for commuters from Sango, Iyana Ipaja, and Itori, reducing dependency on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and bypassing Abeokuta to reach the Sagamu Interchange seamlessly.
The governor further highlighted the road’s strategic importance in boosting trade and logistics, as it will enhance connectivity to the Kajola Dry Port, a key hub linked to the railway network connecting Kano and other parts of the country.
Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering partnerships that drive infrastructure development and economic growth, ensuring Ogun State remains a leading investment destination in Nigeria.
