GOVERNOR ABIODUN COMMENDS IFO LG CHAIRMAN, DELANO, FOR PEOPLE ORIENTED PROJECTS

The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has eulogised Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Tawa Delano, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, for her dedication to improving the lives of the residents through numerous people-oriented projects commissioned across the Local Government Area.

The Governor gave the commendation at the grand ceremony held at NUD Primary School playing ground, venue of the ceremony held on Thursday 25th July, 2024, as rounding off, of a two-day commissioning event by the administration of Hon. Delano.

The commissioning ceremony, which marked the end of Chief Mrs. Delano’s three-year tenure, showcased a range of Infrastructures and social development initiative programs, implemented during her tenure of office.

Speaking through Hon. Razak Oluwakemi Daddah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Governor Abiodun extolled Hon. Delano’s dedication to grassroots development, saying, “Her efforts have made a significant impact on the lives of the people, and her legacy will be remembered for years to come.”

He equally appreciated the cooperation between the political Functionaries and Career Officers and their support for the Chairman which culminated in the delivery of the projects to the people.

The commissioned projects, spread across various communities in the Local Government, included construction of a block of two classrooms at Iju Aga; Reconstruction of a block of three classrooms and offices at N.U.D primary school, Ifo; Construction of Borehole at Ijemo and a Rehabilitated borehole at Akera in Agbado.

In addition are Construction of bridges at Awela Crown Estate, Yakoyo area in Olorunsogo Ifo and Robiyan; Rehabilitation of laboratory building at Agbado Health Centre and Construction of Open Stalls at Ifo market.

The commissioning which spanned through a period of two days, commenced on Wednesday, 24th July and came to a close on Thursday, 25th July, 2024.

In her speech, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Tawa Delano expressed her appreciation to the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, for giving her the opportunity to serve her people and providing the needed funds for the projects.

She thanked members of the Executive and Legislative Councils as well as the Career Officers of the Local Government for their support and cooperation.

She equally appreciated the Royal fathers and the entire good people of lfo Local Government for their understanding, cooperation and support for her administration.

Notable figures present at the ceremony included Alhaji Musibaudeen Adebesin, a former Vice Chairman in the Local Government and Are Tunde Alabi, a former Chairman of the Council Area, who both lauded Chief Mrs. Delano’s achievements.

Chief Adebesin remarked on the transformative impact of the projects, while Are Tunde Alabi emphasized the chairman’s focus on sustainable development throughout her tenure.

Other dignitaries, including Barr. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, the Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, represented by Mr. Jide Eleyowo, amongst many others also commended Hon. Delano for her landmark achievements during her three-year tenure.

They highlighted her selfless service, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the people and unanimously agreed that Hon. Delano has been a beacon of hope for the people, adding that, her projects will continue to benefit generations to come.

The commissioning ceremony was well attended by dignitaries including the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Oladapo Adebesin; the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Adeleye Olarenwaju; members of the Legislative Council; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Idris Kushimo; Supervisors; Head of Local Government Administration, Ms Olufunke Adeniji; Political and Principal career officers of the Local Government; Religious, Community and Political Leaders as well as residents of the area, who all came to associate and celebrate Chief Delano’s achievements.
