Governor Dapo Abiodun Provides Cash Assistance to Victims of Ososa Wind Disaster

It was indeed a memorable event which Ososa land can never forget in a hurry, when hundreds of thousands of its people trooped out en masse recently and gathered at the palace of their king, His Royal Highness Oba (Dr.) Adetoye Alatishe, to receive the representatives of His Excellency, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State and his candid gestures for the victims of Ososa wind disaster.
The windstorm that came out of the blue on the 11th, November 2022 wrecked havoc at some parts of the town destroying properties worth millions of naira. The shock from which the people of the said area are yet to be recovered from.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman, Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Shuaib Adebayo Ladejobi lauded his Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun for the financial assistance given to the beneficiaries. He said that the succour would go a long way in indemnifying the affected people.
He seized the opportunity to encourage the people to plant trees as a controlling measures and mechanism for wind erosion.
He explained further that, his administration engaging in trees planting is not unconnected with the benefits associated with it.
In his royal message, His Highness Oba (Dr.) Adeoye Alatishe gave thanks to governor Dapo Abiodun; the Commissioner for special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Hon. Olufemi Ilori – Odutan and others that put effort in making the financial assistance possible.
He appreciated the Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government for his giant strides in the local government and endorsed him for second term of office or any other higher political offices.
The Royal father also commended the administrative prowess of the Head of local government Administration, (HOLGA), Mrs. Bola Oshin.
He finally charged the beneficiaries to take precautions regarding environmental issues and make maximum utilization of the succor provided.
The Commissioner for special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Hon. Olufemi Ilori Oduntan, in her speech said that the Government was not happy with the incident, as it creates untold hardship for the victims.
she further urged residents to plant trees while stressing on the benefits of planting trees around the community.
She said that the financial assistance may not cover all the loss incurred by every individuals affected by the storm, but it should be seen as a way of support and unwavering commitment of the present administration to the general welfare of the citizens.
She eulogized the Gbegande of Ososa, Oba (Dr.) Adetoye Alatishe for his commitment to ensure that the event was a reality.
A beneficiary, Elder Isa Hadi, on behalf of himself and others expressed gratitude to the Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the gesture extended to them.

Ladejobi Shuaib; his vice chairman, Chief (Mrs) Iretiolu Adenugba and other members of the local government executive council; members of the Legislative council;
