The Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has issued a warning note that any house that is used as a hideout for the kidnappers in the council area will be demolished.

The chairman gave the warning during the stakeholders security meeting held at the Local Government secretariat, Itori.

Hon Adesina explained that the spate of insecurity in the council area had taken a new dimension despite government efforts to curtail the monster that is making life unbearable for the people.

Speaking further, he warned people not to plead for anyone caught as such culprit would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

According to the council boss, most of the crime committed irrespective of their weight, mostly happened in the council area and the people at the level suffer most.

He therefore, appealed to the security agencies to kindly put more efforts to curb the criminality of kidnapping, that is now the order of the day in the societies.

His words , “We must not close our eyes to this ugly development as a government. Moreover, if security can be well guaranteed at the grassroots, the whole state and country will be largely at peace”.

With the electioneering period in full gear, security personnel had also been charged by the council helmsman to do all possible efforts to protect lives and properties while at the same time , ensure peaceful conduct of the polls.

‘”We must all join hands together to expose bad elements that are hiding in the dark to partake in kidnapping or any form of crime in our society.

“Also, we must ensure a hitch free election in the year 2023, so that we can both have a peaceful and conducive atmosphere” the chairman said.

Hon Adesina, also urged the motorcyclists that are yet to register, to do so without delay as it has become imperative for them to register and be numbered with reflective jackets.

He used the occasion to commend the chief security officer of Ogun State , His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, who have been doing everything humanly possible to make Ogun State a safe haven for all dwellers in the state.

The Olu of Itori, His Royal Majesty, OBA Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo, gave kudos to the executive chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa for taken the bull by the horn, without minding whose ox is gored, concerning security of lives and properties in the council area.

Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo, also enjoined those selling land to strangers without having necessary and adequate information about them, to be cautious. While frowning at the activities of the Land grabbers with the warning to stay clear of Ewekoro local government.

The monarch, counselled the people to speak up whenever there is any suspicious movement or strangers by alerting the relevant agencies to forestall any ugly incidence.

While rendering security reports, the divisional police officer, Ewekoro, CSP Sunday Opebiyi, advised that each community should endeavour to form security committee which he said would be of great assistance to the security agencies.

CSP Opebiyi , also, charged parents to talk to their wards to abstain from any criminal activities and urged everyone to keep eagle eye on everything around them to forestall ugly incidence.

In the same vein, the divisional police officer, Ibogun, CSP Samuel Oladele urged people to report without delay any suspicious activity, most especially, attention must be paid to the abandoned buildings or fenced places that could be used as hideout for the criminals.

The all inclusive security meeting had in attendance: security agencies, traditional rulers, members of community development committee, members of community development association, political and career functionaries, captains of businesses and religious leaders.
