HON ADESINA HARPS ON TACKLING MAINTENANCE OF ROAD USERS SAFETY STANDARD, PREVENTION OF AVOIDABLE ACCIDENTS

The Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon.Sikiru Adesina has called on the officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps to put all machineries in motion to tackled the incessant road accidents and ensure maintenance of road users safety standards in the Nation’s major highways.

This call was made while the Executive Chairman was playing host to commander C. S. Yerima of the Itori Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps in his office at the Local Government secretariat, Itori.

Hon Adesina, stressed that efforts must be geared towards ensuring that the major highways were saved from preventive accidents.

The Council Boss, therefore, reiterated the need for a working synergy between the Unit Command of the FRSC, Management of various motor parks in the Local Government and other agencies in Road safety activities.

He applauded the command for their tireless efforts at ensuring that the Nation’s highways are devoid of unnecessary and avoidable accidents.

He urged the officers not to rest on their oars, like an Oliver Twist, “Who is always asking for more ”

Earlier, Commander C. S. Yerima in his speech had sought for the assistance of the Chairman in the area of provision of well-equipped hospital for the treatment of accident victims within the Council Area, while promising to continue the constant interface with the Local Government whenever the need arises.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Adeyanju Akinyemi appreciated Commander C. S. Yerima and his team tireless efforts in keeping the highways within the Local Government safe by instilling decency.
