Hon. Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan Commiserates with Victims of windstorm in Ososa, Ayepe communities

The Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Honourable Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan has commiserated and sympathized with victims of windstorm in Ososa and Ayepe communities, whose roofs were removed and damaged by the storm. She described the incident as sad and unfortunate.

Honourable Ilori-Oduntan, made this statement, during an emergency assessment tour of Ososa and Ayepe communities, concerning the windstorm disaster that recked great havock to buildings; blowing away their roof top, on Thursday, 10th November, 2022 in Odogbolu Local Government area of Ogun State.

The Commissioner, in her speech, strongly advised the residents of Ososa and Ayepe communities to cultivate the habit of tree planting, due to the incessant strong winds, which affected some communities in the area resulting in damages.

She said, “having gone round the town to assess the level of the damages done by the windstorm to the electric poles and many houses, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR will leave no stone un-turned in responding quickly to the affected victims by providing relief materials to curb their hardship”

She however disclosed that, the state government has directed the State Emergency Monitoring Agency (SEMA) to evaluate the incidents and provide the victims with emergency relief materials.

“Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, led administration in the state, is a responsible and responsive Government” the commissioner attested.

She appealed to the people living in the area to proffer a lasting solution by planting trees around, to prevent future occurrences, stressing that the  government will continue to sensitized and enlightened the people on Tree planting.

Welcoming the hounourable Commissioner, earlier to his Palace, His Royal Highness, Olososa of Ososa, Ogunroyega VI, Oba (Dr.) Adetoye Mojeed Gbegande Alatise, expressed gratitude on behalf of Ososa residents, for government’s timely intervention on the disaster which rendered many people homeless.

“It was unbelievable, unimaginable, very surprisedly that, the disaster happened when we are still considering resurcitation of transformers for electricity” Oba Gbagende lamented.

In the same vein, the executive Chairman, Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Ladejobi Shuaib, appreciated the State delegation led by Honourable Olufemi Ilori, having no doubt that the state government’s presence and assessment will bring succour to the residents.

A resident of the area who gave his name as Musibau Babatunde, while reacting said, “we thank God, no life was lost, government should come to our aid”
