Honour Of Slain Police Officers In Delta Operation: Pcrc Commends IGP, Wants Perpetrators To Face The Full Wrath Of The Law

Says Act is Despicable, Callous and Wicked !

The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan has hailed the Nigeria Police authority led by the IGP, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM on the prompt decision to honor the six (6) slain Police officers who were ambushed by armed assailants while undertaking a mission to investigate the disappearance and rescue of three of their colleagues in the Ohoro Forest of Delta State, while six (6) others are currently missing-in-action due to the contemptible incident.

Speaking on behalf of his National Executive Council (NEC) and the National Working Committee (NWC), Alhaji Olaniyan hailed all the Police officers (slained and missing in action) for exhibiting exceptional courage in the face of danger. He described as highly sacrificial, commitment of security agents in Nigeria, especially Police officers in protecting lives and properties of every good citizens and foreigners alike, hence the justification on the repeated calls for a befitting reward and compensation for their pivotal role in maintaining law and order within the country.

While commending the IGP and his management team for the activation of necessary steps, specifically the order already in place for the payment of entitlements of the officers involved to their families and the posthumous honour for them for their noble service as well as their ultimate sacrifice at Nigeria Police Awards and Commendation Ceremony scheduled for 5th April, 2024 in Abuja, the Mogaji Fosunpaja of Ibadan Land expressed a deep sense of appreciation to the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his commitment to the welfare of security agents in Nigeria, especially Police officers who according to the PCRC and many good Nigerians, deserve improved welfare package and support to meaningfully and mercilessly combat crime in the country.

With a strong commitment towards ensuring that Nigerians continue to adequately partner the Police to rid our society from the ugly trends of modern day crimes, the PCRC number one man promised to ensure that the slain officers and indeed all fallen Police officers and men are deservedly acknowledged during the 40th anniversary celebration of the PCRC which will start across the country next month April by grace. He cautioned community members and leaders against every act of sabotage against Nigeria security agents, nothing that such will only bring negative effects within the community as against the positive ones which are germaine for overall community development and progress.

He concluded by expressing his condolences to the immediate and extended family members of the slain officers, the Nigeria Police family and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with prayers that evil conspiracies and theories against our nation will be defeated and that our nation will triumph in the midst of current challenges ravaging our society.
