Ifo LG Boss Flaggs-off Campaign on Integrated Measles, Yellow Fever Vaccination

In a bid to ensure that the People of Ifo Local Government live a disease free life, the Council Chairman, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano, has flagged off an integrated Measles and Yellow Fever Vaccination Campaign on Wednesday 6th July, 2022 at the Council’s Secretariat.

This is in line with the mantra of the current administration in Ogun State that all inhabitants of the State must have access to quality health care services.

Hon. Delano, while speaking at the event expressed her appreciation to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, who has been supporting the Council Areas in all ramifications especially in the area of health care delivery by ensuring that everyone enjoys quality health care.

This she said, the governor has been doing since the inception of his administration. She also seized the opportunity to thank the good people of the Council Area for their prompt response and support for her administration while promising to give the programme all necessary support required.

Speaking further, the Council Boss noted that the vaccination is targeted at different categories of people. According to her, the Measles Vaccination is for children from 9 months and below 5 years old; the Yellow Fever Vaccination is meant for People between 9 months to age 44; OPV is for children of zero to 59 months; The Covid-19 Vaccination which is meant for adults of 18 years and above is also ongoing as well as the routine immunization exercise amongst others.

 

She however, assured that all the vaccines are safe and pose no health hazard to the people.

Earlier in his speech, the Director, Primary Health Care (P.H.C) in the Local Government, Dr. Olalekan Oke, disclosed that the programme is a full package of Vaccinations for various ages and are designed to cater for the immunization needs of everyone in Local Government Area.

Dr. Oke appreciated the Local Government Boss for her support since she assumed office particularly for her commitment to quality and affordable health care delivery.

Present at the ceremony were the Vice Chairman, Hon Adebesin Oladapo Ibrahim; Majority Leader, Hon. Gbenga Soge, other Honourable members; Supervisor for Primary Health Care, Miss Anifat Jolaoso; Supervisor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alh. Fatai Jinadu; Supervisor designate, Mrs Abibat;  Special Adviser on P.H.C, Alhaji Wasiu Adeniyi.

Others included, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Akintomide Omotayo; Directors/ Heads of Departments, the Programme Officers, Mr. Olusegun Oriola, the Council’s Immunization Officer; Mr Sheriff Adekunbi, Matron Ige Mary Adeyinka and other staff of the PHC department amongst others.
