
Ijebu East Local Government Holds Year 2024 Budget Stakeholders Meeting

The people of Ijebu East local government has again been assured of an all inclusive governance, as the best approach in respect of equitable development in the rural areas
The assurance came from the chairman of Ijebu East local government, Hon. Oyesanya Adetutu Elizabeth during the stakeholders meeting on year 2024 budget of the local government area, held recently at the Town Hall, Ogbere.
The chairman Hon Oyesanya Adetutu in her welcome speech said the meeting was for the purpose of letting the people have input in the 2024 budget, hence the people’s contribution is gamane to the workings of the local government.
The council boss, said 2024 budget with the theme, ‘Budget of New Era of Development’ is to encourage participatory governance and a critical approach on feedback from the people in terms of what they want their government at the grassroots to do for the people.
Hon Olaolu olabimtan, the Commissioner for Budget and planning in his keynote address titled Synergy between the State and Local Government for Sustainable Development, said the topic is apt and legal. Synergy he said, means interaction or cooperation of two or more organisation, substances or other agents to produce a combined effects greater than the sum of other separate effects.
Speaking further, Olaolu Olabimtan said, bold and decisive actions must be taken to ensure effective management of the local government resources through engagement of the people of Ijebu East government at the formation stage of the budget. By so doing it will give the people rightful sense of belonging at the implementation stage in various communities as well as tracking output.
He added that, Ijebu East Local Government is the first in the history of Ogun State since 2021 to organize such important event. “The leadership of Ijebu East local government has taken the right direction to further improve the well being of the people and eady to partner with the stakeholders including different arms and tiers of government with the mind set to make the council greater among comity of local government in Nigeria”, Olabimtan said.
The stakeholders meeting had in attendance traditional rulers, Secretary to the local government, Head of local government administration, Council of Baales, Supervisors, Advisers, Trade associations, Market leaders, Party leaders and the Youth council.
