IJEBU NORTH LG BOSS INAUGURATES THE 8TH LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

In accordance with the directive from His Excellency (Prince Dapo Abiodun) MFR, Governor of Ogun State, which mandated all Legislative Councils to be inaugurated on Monday 16th August, 2021
INLG Boss inaugurates the 8th Legislative Council on Monday, 16th August, 2021 at the Legislative Council Chamber in the Local Government Secretariat.
The programme which commenced with an opening prayer after which the ROLL CALL of the Councillors were made by the Clerk of the House, Mr Bologun Olusegun, from ward 01 to 11 that made up Ijebu North Local Government.
The Executive chairman Ijebu North Local Government, Hon Odusanya ‘Bolaji Oluwaseun, expressed his appreciation to Almighty God for making it possible to be among the living and also thanked the Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR) for preparing the ground for their successful outings at the Polls, through distribution of dividend of democracy in the Council Area.
He acknowledged the coming out enmass of all APC members across the Local Government Area, for their support and a tremendous contribution during the last election.
While congratulating all the honourable Councillors on their success at the election, he added, “their success is no doubt as a result of their hand work and confidence which good people of the Area reposed in their ability in delivering dividend of democracy”.
He therefore charged members of the 8th Legislative Council to see their inauguration as the beginning of a new dawn in INLG.
He also used the medium in seeking for the cooperation of the Legislative Council, to work harmoniously with him in order to actualize the dream of taking the Local Government to an enviable heights.
In order to have principal officers mong the Legislative Council, the Clerk of the House, Mr Balogun Olusegun, anchored the election proper in which, HON OLANREWAJU ABASS representing ward 07 emerged as the Leader of the House of the 8th Legislative Council; HON OLARONBI OLUSEGUN JAMES, representing ward 03 emerged as the Deputy leader; HON BADEJO ORENIWA TAJUDEEN representing ward 04 emerged as the Majority Leader; While HON JULIET PAUL FAUSAT representing ward 10 emerged as the CHIEF WHIP of the 8th Legislative Council
The Leader of the House, Hon Olanrewaju Abass, in his acceptance speech, gave his uttermost appreciation to God Almighty for their victory at the last poll and for preserving everyone till the day.
He thanked and appreciated the Governor of Ogun state, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun(MFR) for his crystal clear visions, missions, accomplishments and his high sense of responsiveness “in making sure that we have Ogun State and Ijebu North Local Government of our dreams.” he said
He also appreciated the Executive Chairman, Hon Odusanya ‘Bolaji Oluwaseun and prayed for God guidance in discharging their duties.
Hon Sobonojo Adeniyi representing ward 11 gave the vote of thanks by appreciating God, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR; Executive Chairman, Hon Odusanya Abiodun, the Leader of the Legislative House, INLG Career officers, APC leaders across the LG, Security agencies across the LG and all member of the Party(APC) present.
Hon Badejo Banjo representing ward 05 and Hon Juliet Paul FAUSAT representing ward 10 moved the motion of adjournment with closing Prayer said by Alhaji T.K Balogun.
