Ikenne LG Chairman, Hon Ogunleye Congratulates New Ebi of Idena, Oba Lukman Salami

The Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye, has congratulated, Oba Lukman Oluwadamilare Salami, the newly appointed Ebi of Idena, in the Council Area.

According to a release from the Council’s Information Officer, Oyebola Adenusi, Hon. Ogunleye rejoiced with the new Monarch on his well-deserved selection by the kingmakers on the 13th of May 2022, and the subsequent approval on the 25th July, 2022, by the Governor of  Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR.

Oba Salami’s appointment was formally communicated through a letter personally signed and presented to the monarch by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Kola Fagbohun on Wednesday, 27th July, 2022, at the Obas complex, Oke mosan, Abeokuta.

“I congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment as the the new Ebi of Idenaland, and I pray that your reign shall usher in peace, prosperity, and greater development into the town”  the Council Chairman said.

The Council Boss also rejoiced with the entire Indigents of Idenaland on the new dawn, being witnessed in the community, while urging them to rally round the new Oba, as he looks forward to formally ascend the throne of his forefathers.

Hon. Ogunleye, thanked the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the entire Ogun State Executive Council, for the approval of Oba Salami’s appointment.

The release further stated that, Oba Lukman Oluwadamilare Salami is a Prince from the male lineage of the Sebu Ruling House of the town and was elected by the Idena Kingmakers on the 13th of May, 2022, in a keenly-contested selection process involving eight contestants.

Adding that, Prince Lukman Oluwadamilare Salami is a businessman, former Banker and was born 41 years ago in Lagos.

The New Monarch, is an alumnus of the famous Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, holds a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Relations, and he is also a postgraduate student of the same institution (M.Sc. inview, Business Administration).

He is married to Olori Ajoke Abisola Salami, and the marriage is blessed with three lovely children.

By his appointment, and in line with Section 22 (i), of the Obas and Chiefs Law of Ogun State, 2021, Oba Salami, has become a permanent member of the Ogun State Council of Obas, and a member of the Remo Traditional Council.
