The Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye felicitated residents of the Council area in particular and Nigerians at large on the occasion of the Country’s 62nd Independence Day Celebration.
The Chairman in his Independence Day message called on Nigerians to maintain unity, faith, peace and progress which are the core values and motto of our founding fathers.
He also encouraged Nigerians to re-dedicate themselves to the virtues of equity, justice and tolerance which are the values that can take the country to the promise land.
Further more, he encouraged the youths to be optimistic because the country has a brighter future and enjoined them to join hands with the political leaders to build a nation that can scale the social and economic hurdles envisioned six decades ago by the early nationalists and should always embrace peace and shun any form of violence as we are preparing for the 2023 general elections.
Hon. Ogunleye further enjoined the Citizens to be grateful for God’s grace in the country and encouraged them to be hopeful and always pray for a united and peaceful nation.
