LGSC TOUR: Ambassador Ogunsola Welcomes LGSC Chairman, Barr. Onabanjo to Obafemi-Owode LG

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina Lanre has welcomed the Ogun state Local Government Service Commission, LGSC, Chairman, Barrister Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo and her team to the Council Area in Owode Egba, in continuation of their Official visit to the 20 Local Government Areas in the state, on Wednesday, 14th September, 2022.
The Council Boss, Amb. Ogunsola, while appreciating the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission Chairman for the visit, stated that the meeting will surely enhanced productivity of staffs in the local government.
He also acknowledged the cordial and harmonious relationship between the career staffs and the executive arm of the Council Area.
The Chairman, Ogun state Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo in her address urged the workers to be disciplined and have passion for excellence in discharging their duties as local government workers.
Onabanjo also condemned the attitude of lateness to work and unproductive nature of some staffs, especially on the revenue generated remittances to the coffers of local government as expected.
She also frowned at the appearance of staffs at their duty post particularly on the mode of dressing, that negates the civil service rule.
Dr. Oluseun Olufowobi, Permanent Secretary, LGSC, reiterated the commitment of the Commission in prioritizing the welfare of staffers across the board.
He therefore encouraged members of staff of the Council Area, to express their challenges, has it’s the reason for their visit, in oder to hear directly, with the aim of channeling a lasting solution.
Responding to questions, Dr. Olufowobi spoke on the complaints of some staff, concerning the reduction in their salary after being promoted from a grade level to another.
He therefore stated that, anyone with such complaints should come to the commission with a valid facts to back up the case, “has it’s certain, he or she shall be welcomed and attended to accordingly” he added.
Similarly, the Commission also held a meeting with the Community Development Council, CDC, in Obafemi Owode Zone, in order to identify with them and to know the bothering issues on ground and how to resolve it .
Earlier in his speech, Mr. Fatai Ogundele, Head of Local Government Administration, thanked the commission for the visit, while appealing to them for the posting of more personnel to the local government in order to fill the vacant positions, stressing that, many of the Junior staff have converted to the Senior cadres
He then assured the Commission of the supports and dedications of staffs to duty always.
Attendance at the meeting included; The entourage of the Commission Chairman, all Full Time Commissioners, Permanent Secretary, Directors of the Commission, Management team of Obafemi Owode Local Government amongst others.
