LGSC TOUR: ANLG Chairman, Hon Ayorinde Receives Barr. Onabanjo, others Amidst Fanfare

The Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Ayorinde Adebayo, has played host to the team of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, LGSC, led by its Chairman, Barrister Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, who was on a day official visit to the Council area in Akomoje, Abeokuta amidst fanfare on Thursday, 22nd September, 2022.
The Council Boss, while appreciating the Commission, stated that the visit will foster efficiency and effectiveness in the relationship between the staff, the Executive and legislative arms of the Council Area.
Barr. Onabanjo, in her address urged workers to be diligent, disciplined and have passion for excellence while discharging their duties.
She further, condemned the attitude of unproductive nature of some staff, especially in the manner of approach to their promotions, “an example which was experienced during the last promotion exercise” she added.
She urged them to see their jobs as the most important thing in their lives.
Barrister Onabanjo gave kudos to Prince Ayorinde led administration for the welfarism of staff and pleaded for more mutual understanding between the career officers and political functionaries.
In the same vein, Barr. Onabanjo who delivered the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, message to the executives of the Zonal Community Development Council, (ZCDC), appreciated them for their immense contributions towards the developmental projects in their various communities, which is to compliment government programs.
She then rilled out some of the achievements of the state government such as construction and rehabilitation of schools, health care facilities which can be identified with yellow roofs everywhere; Roads, bridges and other infrastructures amongst others.
She also enjoined the general publics to utilize the interest free loan facility tagged; “OKOWO DAPO” in order to enlarge their businesses as it is an opportunity for market women and artisans to boost their businesses.
Responding, Chief Ajagunjeun, the Zonal Community Development Council, (ZCDC), Chairman in Abeokuta North Local Government, appreciated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the golden opportunity given to them, and also commended the present government for the numerous projects embarked upon in various communities of the State.
He therefore, assured the governor of their support, that they are going to work assiduously towards the re-election bid of the Governor for a second time having benefited tremendously from his developmental projects and programs since inception of this present administration in the State.
Mr Lekan Oderinde, the Director, Management Services, LGSC, who stood in for the Permanent Secretary, Dr Oluseun Olufowobi appreciated the warm reception accorded the Commission’s team.
He also charged the staffers to embrace the core values of the Commission which includes: integrity, professionalism, discipline and passion for excellence.
Mr Oderinde therefore, hinted that the Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, had already addressed the issue of contributory pension and leave bonuses for the staff during the last meeting with the Directors of all the Local Governments and Nulge officials in Abeokuta.
He added that, the Commission had signed an MOU on the National Housing Funds (NHF) in order for staff to access the loan.
Speaking earlier, the Acting Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Nurat Adebimpe Sekoni, expressed her gratitude to the Commission members and acknowledged their efforts towards building a service of fairness, equity and progress since inception of office of Barr. Olubukunola Onabanjo, following the reality on ground.
Alhaja Sekoni, further praised Barrister Onabanjo led Commission for the prompt responses to the welfare, training and promotion, conversion, In-service trainings and workshops for staff, which has tremendously enhanced their productivity at work. She then, pledged the unflinching support and loyalty of the general staff to the present government in the State.
She also expressed her appreciation to the Political Functionaries, Directors, Heads of Department/ Units and entire career officers in the Council area for their cooperation and being part of today’s success story.
Comrade Okanlawon Olawale, the Nulge Chairman, in his own statement made on behalf of the staff, appreciated the Commission for the visit as well as the commission boss motherly roles so far, which is second to none.
The occasion which is three in one had in attendance, the Full time Commissioners, Permanent Secretary, Directors of the Commission.
Others included, the Executive and Legislative Arms, the Management team of Abeokuta North Local Government and Executives of Zonal Community Development Council (ZCDC) in Abeokuta North Local Government.
