LGSC VISIT: Ifo LG Staff Receives Onabanjo, Others Amidst Fanfare

It was fanfare at Ifo Local Government Secretariat on Wednesday, 14th September, 2022, when the Chairman and members of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, LGSC paid a day official visit to the Local Government in continuation of its tour of all the Local Governments in the State.
The visit which was to familiarize the Commission with happenings at the Twenty (20) Local Government Areas in the State, is first of its kind since the inception of the present Commission.
The Commission’s Chairman, Barr. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, FCPA, held three (3) different meetings in the course of the tour.
The first being with the Political functionaries led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Chief Mrs. Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano; secondly with the Executives of the Zonal Community Development Council (CDC) and thirdly with the entire workforce of the Local Government.
She expressed her pleasure with the rousing welcome as well as the reception accorded her and her entourage.
She also commended the staff for exhibiting professionalism according to the report received from the Executive Chairman of the Council Area.
Barr. Onabanjo also used the medium to charge the staff to be more dedicated to duty as the government is doing everything possible to make their welfare its priority.
She cautioned that, they should shun acts capable of jeopardizing their future, while encouraging them to upgrade themselves by going for further studies in more lucrative courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy and the likes, instead of going for lesser courses.
Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Adeolu Oluseun Olufowobi, appreciated the Council Chairman, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano, for the love she has been demonstrating towards the workforce which is a pointer to her commitment to the welfare of the Staff.
He however, enjoined the Workers to reciprocate the good gestures, as to whom much is given, much is expected.
In the same vein, the Commission Chairman, Barr. Onabanjo at the meeting with the Executives of the Zonal Community Development Council (CDC) expressed her gratitude on the turnout, while delivering His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, Governor of Ogun State message, on the need to cooperate with the present government that has been working assiduously towards making live more meaningful for the citizenry by constructing and renovating infrastructures like schools, hospitals which can be identified with yellow roofs; construction of roads, bridges amongst others in all the three Senatorial districts of the State.
She therefore, enjoined them to make use of the interest free loan facility tagged; “OKOWO DAPO” to boost their businesses as it is an opportunity for market women and artisans to expand their businesses.
Responding, the Zonal CDC Chairman, Ifo Local Government, Prince Amos Oladele, appreciated the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the wonderful opportunity, while like Oliver twist, he demanded for more government presence in their localities.
Prince Oladele, stressed that, the present government in the state has been working towards complimenting the CDAs through Grant in Aids for some developmental projects embarked upon by the Communities. He then assured that they are going to work towards the re-election bid of the Governor for a second term having noticed his giant strides in the last three years and three months in office.
While welcoming the LGSC Chairman and her team into the Council Area, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Akinyemi Adeyanju thanked the Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, (FCPA), the full-time Commissioners and the esteemed Directors for deeming it fit to visit Ifo Local Government which is part of the ongoing tour of the twenty Local Government Areas in the State.
The seasoned administrator also extended his appreciation to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for his administration’s effort in the running of Local Governments in the State. He also acknowledged the exemplary worker friendly attitude of the Council Chairman, Hon. Kikelomo Delano, who has always been after the welfare of the staff.
He thereafter pledged the unflinching loyalty of the entire workforce to the present administrations at both the Local Government and the State at large.
The Branch Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, in the Council Area, Comrade Jimoh Aliu Babatunde, who spoke on behalf of the staff, appreciated the Commission for the visit while promising that the workers will be more committed to their duties.
