LIPAKALA DAY 2021: IKLG BOSS CHARGES OGERE INDIGENES ON INVESTMENT AND JOB CREATION

The Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, has charged the Indigenes of Ogere Remo, both at home and in the diaspora, to invest and set up businesses in the community.

OGUNLEYE gave this charge while speaking at the 45th Lipakala Day Celebration, held on Saturday at the Wesley School field, Ogere Remo.

He commended the Ologere of Ogere Remo, His Royal Highness, Oba Oladele OGUNBADE for providing the leadership that has guaranteed a steady peace, progress and development in the town.

The Chairman also commended those who in their individual and collective capacities had contributed to the Ogere developmental agenda.

He specially acknowledged the founder and President of the Animal Care Group, late Dr. Olatunde Aiyedun AGBATO in this regard, as he urged other sons and daughters of Ogere to emulate the outstanding employer of labour and great Philanthropist.

“I want all Indigenes to emulate this illustrious son of Ogere, as i urge you to also come and invest in and give back to your community.
When jobs are created, wealth is also created, and when there is prosperity, there will be peace and progress”, said the Chairman.

“On our part as a government, we shall continue to create the enabling environment for businesses to flourish. I enjoin you to continue to support our government and that of the state led by our own dear brother, Prince Dapo ABIODUN MFR.

Kindly continue to pay all revenues due to the government as and when due. When you fulfill this civic responsibility, it helps the government to deliver dividends of democracy”, the Chairman further said.

Hon. OGUNLEYE, concluded his address by appealing to the host community, to continue to accommodate the hausa traders, urging both host and guests, to live together in harmony, under a one and united Nigeria.

He also implore tanker drivers to desist from indiscriminate parking along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway, at the old Tollgate axis, in order to ensure a free flow of traffic.

In his royal message at the event, the Ologere of Ogere, His Royal Highness, Oba Oladele OGUNBADE, who spoke through the Olisa of Ogere, Dr. Chief David OSITELU, appreciated God for giving him the grace and sparing his life to witness this year’s event.

He advised youths to be good ambassadors of the town always, and also shun vices that could tarnish their image. He prayed for the repose of the souls of two illustrious sons of the town, Dr. Olatunde AGBATO, and Yomi SOLARIN, both of whom have gone to be with the Lord.

The royal father also sought the support of all Ogere Indigenes, and friends alike, for the remodelling and reconstruction of Ogere Town Hall, as well as the construction of a befitting palace for the Ologere.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Ogere Community Development Council, Evang. Temitayo LADEJOBI, reeled out some of the achievements recorded under her leadership, which include the resuscitation of Ogere Town Hall; Cleaning of Tollgate Market; and desilting of drainage; and cultivation of a robust engagement with Ikenne Local Government, and Ogun State Government.

She commended the Ogun State Government for the rehabilitation of the Panoda road, and also hinted of the Council’s plans at building a 21st century event facility for the town.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman, Planning Committee of the Lipakala Day 2021, Dr. Sulaiman ADENIYE, called on all Ogere Indigenes to work harmoniously towards the development of the town, a task he described as one which requires the deliberate passion of all.
