MARRIAGE CRISIS : PARENTAL INTERFERENCE A MAJOR FACTOR – Rev. Adeniji

The General overseer of God Is Able Covenant Mission Inc.(Centre for Holiness and Redemption), Rev. Peter Olujide has identified parental interference as the major factor responsible for ample marriage crisis in the Society at this crucial period.

The renowned clergy man made this known during a special programme dedicated for Family Matters, held at the church headquarters, Ita Oshin, Abeokuta.

Rev. Adeniji emphasized that over bearing of many parents on couples are not doing any good but rather wreak havoc on marriages, most of the time.

He said marriage is for the matured people who should be able to handle their homes by themselves without any interference from outsiders.

The clergy man, also enjoined parents to step aside for their sons and daughters who are married to manage their homes without getting involved in their marital affairs.

He stressed the need for the husbands to take good care of their homes, not shying away from their responsibilities, knowing fully well that women are to play supportive role and not slaves.

Rev. Adeniji also made it clear that, aside parental interference playing major role in marriage crisis, there are other reasons why marriages crumble this day, as a result of many couples failing to realize the most challenging phases of life; failure to make adjustments with each other’s habits and idiosyncrasies, spouse unfaithfulness, lack of children, lack of money, misunderstanding and  differences in religion background.

The General overseer, then admonished couples to have faith in God and pray whenever there is stormy weather in their marriage; stressing that marriage only has entrance door without exit door, till death do them part.

He however, added that if there is any threat to life in any turbulent marriage, there can be a temporary separation to allow peace and for nerves to calm down in order to avoid unnecessary hullabaloo.

During the “holds no barred programme”, Rev. Adeniji disclosed that there are three reasons for marriage, which included; to avoid fornication, for companion and child bearing.
