NUT Ijebu North East Assures Council Boss Of Full Support, Solicits For Improved Teachers Welfare

The Executive Members of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Ijebu North East Branch led by Comrade David Ogunbowale has assured the Executive Chairman, Hon. Foluso Badejo of their full support in the Educational Sector
Comrade Ogunbowale stated this during their courtesy visit to the Council Boss in his office at the Local Government Secretariat, Atan.
While thanking the Executive Chairman for a warm reception given to the members of the Union, Comrade Ogunbowale also congratulated the Chairman for the success recorded at the polls during the last Local Governments Elections.
Ogunbowale siezed the opportunity to reiterate the affection of the good people of the entire Ijebu North East Council Area toward the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and All Progressive Congress as a whole.
However, Comrade Wale Bada, an NUT Leader, in his own speech while welcoming the Executive Chairman, stated that teachers in INELG need to be encouraged for their commitment and untiring efforts which have shown and recognized at the State level for producing two pupils competing in a scholarship programme, where Fifteen (15) pupils have been shortlisted from Sixty (60) that initially started the competition.
Bada mentioned lot of challenges confronting the Union such as numerous demands ranging from furniture for the pupils, new innovative board with markers, running costs for the members of the Union, appreciating the Teachers on their World Acknowledged Day which is every 5th October as well as Provision of recreation facilities in various schools within the Local Government Area just to mention but a few.
While responding, the Council Chairman, Hon Foluso Badejo, thanked the Union body for their unalloyed and unflinching support for the progress of the wards in their various stations.
The Chairman promised to look into all the demands made by the Union, adding that, he would surely attend to the improvements of the Schools as soon as the finances of the Council improves.
He also promised to stage football competitions at the Primary and Secondary Schools so as to boost the morale of the pupils at both levels.
He mentioned emphatically to host the Primary School pupils who came Second in the last Governor’s Cup Football Competition throughout Ogun State.
