Obafemi- Owode Council Boss Promises Support for Value Chain Development Program

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi- Owode Local Government, Ambassador (Hon) Ogunsola Adesina Lanre has said that, the Local government will continue to support individuals and groups that will add value to the well being of the people of the Area; while assuring that, the local government will provide a level playing ground to all investors.

Ambassador Ogunsola stated this, while receiving a team of the Prudent farmers Association, named, Value Chain Development Programme, Ogun State Chapter, in his office at Owode Egba.

Speaking further, the Council Chairman, pledged his full support to the Association, stating that the programme will be of great influence to the Council Area at large.

He also thanked the Association for bringing such a viable programme to the Council Area; being an agricultural programme that will transform the lives of the youths and farmers.

In his response, the State Co-ordinator of the Association, Mr Samuel Adeogun Eulogies the Council boss, Hon. Ogunsola for his unflinching support to the farmers within the Local Government Area.

Speaking on the programme of the Association, Mr Adeogun, stressed that the programme will benefit the youths, farmers and the people in the grassroot within the Local Council area.

The co-ordinator added that two Gari factories has been established in the Council Area, at Alapako and Bara villages respectively.

He noted that the Association also have acquired, 80 hecters of land which was mainly for cassava in addition with rice plantation.

Mr Adeogun also emphasised, that solar powered boreholes as well as market stalls have been constructed at Mokoloki and other parts of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area

The Secretary to Local Government, Hon. Kayode Dipeolu, in his remark thanked the Association for putting Obafemi Owode Local Government in mind; while stating that the programme will help to reduce unemployment among the youths in the Council Area as well as the farmers.

Others at the gathering included: Consultant on Agricultural and Natural Resources, Hon. Idowu Fasanya; Mr Kayode Alebiosu, Director, Agricultural & Natural Resources and other members of the Association.
