OBITUARY: PROFESSOR ONAOLAPO SOLEYE DIES AT 90

This is to announce the passing away of Professor Onaolapo Soleye.

He attended the famous Baptist High School, Abeokuta and the London School of Economics where he read Sociology. Dr Soleye was for many years a Professor of Sociology at the University of Lagos.

He was also Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State before becoming Nigeria’s Minister of Finance under Major General Mohammadu Buhari as the Military Head of State.

He died in the early hours of today, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at age 90.
