Odeda LG Boss Hon. Adeyemo Celebrates One Year in Office in Grand Style

The Executive Chairman, Odeda Local government, Hon. (Mrs) Waliat Folashade Adeyemo, celebrated one year in office with fun fare.

While delivering her address at the event, held at council’s secretariat, she thanked the Almighty God for preserving her life to witness the event which marked an important landmark in the annals of Odeda Local government, as she gladly rendered the account of her stewardship in the past one year, at the helms of affairs of the council.

Hon Afolashade Adeyemo affirmed an impeccable loyalty and appreciation to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR), the Governor of Ogun-State, for his support at all times, couples with the mantra ” Building our Future Together” which serve as a needed tonic to spur her into action.

Speaking further, the council boss also appreciated the sons and daughters of the Local government Area and highly spirited individuals who have extended their hands of fellowship to the administration and keyed into the vision with their magnanimous support, in terms of moral and finances which no doubt had assisted the present administration to embark on people oriented projects across the length and breadth of the council area .

In recognition of their immense contribution, Hon Adeyemo gave them award to say thank you and like an Oliver Twist who is always asking for more, she implored them not to rest on their oars.

In addition, some members of  staff were equally presented with awards to encourage them to be more dedicated to their duties, while the youths were empowered. The aged were also cared for in the ten wards of the local government.

The widow of late comrade Sunday Ogunjimi who lost his life during NLC struggle was given financial support.

As part of the activities of the one year in office event, was the launching of
mobile clinic tricycle in order to facilitate good health and bring health care to the door step of the people in the local government area.

Speaking at the occasion, the Former Ogun State, Chief of Staff, Hon. Shuaib Afolabi Salisu commended and appreciated the support of all the political functionaries, legislators and career officers for exhibiting mutual understanding and maturity with the council chairman.

He however made a promise to be more supportive of Hon. Adeyemo’s administration by extending more
dividends of democracy to both youths and aged people in all the wards that Constituted Odeda Local government.

At the occasion, the council boss took time to highlight the projects facilitated and executed by the present administration as follows :

Donation of two (2) wheel chair to physical challenged individual;
Donation of two (2) brand new motorcycles to Safe Corps for security purpose; Construction of street light at Dagboyin village, via Olugbo Odeda;

Grading of Earth roads in all the ten (10) wards of the Local government, Repair of the local government Cat Grader; Energising of 500KVA transformer with erection of electric concrete poles at Obantoko; Painting/ Renovation of Administrative blocks and Legislative blocks in the local government secretariat;

Purchase of Public Address System for Information Department; Empowerment programs for the indigenes in the (10) wards; Provision/Supply of drugs to all Health Centres in the local government;

Sinking of borehole at the Local Government Secretariat;
Rehabilitation of the Treasurer’s office;
Purchase of two(2) Horse power Hisense A/C for the office of the Executive Chairman; Grading and laterite of roads at Palapala, Obantoko; Embark on operation keep your environment clean;
Facilitate the establishment of FAN MILK Danome at Eweje farm settlement;

Purchase of new set of furnitures at the Legislative chamber; Laid the foundation for seventy two (72) lock-up shop in Odo Eran, Obantoko; Financial support on monthly basis to Baales and Iyaloja to hold meetings; Financial support to CDCS & CDA; Financial support to party men, women, groups and societies;

Provision of exercise books and other writing materials to pupils; Visitation to the hospitals to give financial support to the less privilege e.g triplet, indisposed members of staff, New year etc.;

Supporting primary schools sports activities such as the currently ongoing Sports fiesta at Ijebu Ode;
Supported British American Tobacco Nigeria Company foundation to Drill Solar powered Borehole at Adugan village;

Supported Macgregor Heritage Foundation to Drill Solar powered Borehole at Elegun Mefa, ilawo;
Facilitated training of over fifty (50) youths at NIFFR, SMEDAN, Danome fan milk, Ogun-State ministry of culture, NDE, etc.;

Support for farmers Community Association (FCA); Free distribution of insecticide treated nets, constant participation in immunization and other health programmes; Collaboration with Ruwastam and others;

Drilling of bore hole at Opeji (ongoing); Construction of twenty (20) lock up shops at kila Market, (ongoing); Renovation of twenty (20) open stalls at Odeda Market, Odeda (ongoing).

Leaders, Career officers, Traditional rulers, Religious leaders as well as Market leaders.
