Odeda LG Seeks Cooperation Of Traditional Rulers On COVID-19 Vaccination, Solicits Support On IGR

The Executive Chairman, Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo has charged Baales in the Council Area to cooperate with the government to ensure that their subjects present themselves to be vaccinated in the ongoing Covid-19 Vaccination exercise in the State.

Hon. Adeyemo gave the charge on Wednesday, 26th January, 2022 at a special meeting She held with the traditional rulers at the Council Secretariat.

In her speech at the event, the Council Boss said that, it is only through vaccination and observing all the COVID-19 safety protocols that the residents of the Council Area could be free from the pandemic.

The Chairman who used the occasion to highlight her achievements in the six months of assumption of office, also solicited for the cooperation of the traditional rulers in the area of internally generated revenue, IGR.

The six months score card highlighted by the Chairman included: Distribution of Notebooks to pupils, Grading of roads, Regular supply of essential drugs to Primary Health Care centers and other Social welfare Services.

Hon. Adeyemo, however said that, more meaningful developmental projects and programmes would be implemented in the new year with more revenue coming into the coffers of the Council. “This is possible when all levies and rates are paid as and when due” she added.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, Chief Sabitu Iredele, the Baale of Isolu/Emere thanked the Chairman for the implementation of grassroot oriented projects and pledged their support for her administration.

Dignitaries at the event included: Vice Chairman, Hon. Yaya Nasiru Adigun;  Head of Local Government Administration, Ms Funke Adeniji and other Principal Political and Career Officers of the Local Government.
